Learn all about our newest Ghana Country Director, Freeman Gobah below…

Professional Title: Ghana Country Director

Background: I obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana and then went on to get my Master’s of Science in Social Medicine and Health Management from the Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China. I have worked with a number of non-profits since 2002 focusing on HIV/AIDS. My passion over the years has been to engage and mobilize individuals and communities to positively impact their lives.

How did you hear about PoP? I heard of PoP through a friend. I later chatted and met with PoP’s International Programs Director, Emily when she was visiting Ghana. From that point on I knew that I wanted to be part of this great team of motivated people. I believe that joining the PoP family is an opportunity to fulfill my passion and career goals in working for a non-profit organization that impacts many lives.

What keeps you going? My faith in God, great family and  friends and seeing improvement in the lives of people and communities that l serve.

Why Pop? I am enthused by the energy and zeal of young people to help empower a generation through education by engaging the community and other stakeholders.

Interesting fact: I passed a Chinese proficiency exam after an initial thought of giving up!
