Why school builds?
We believe that a quality physical space is critical to fostering learning—so we build classrooms in partnership with public school systems and communities in Ghana, Guatemala and Laos to ensure that all students have access to a safe and healthy place to learn.
85% of the communities PoP visits lack basic physical infrastructure. Creating a quality learning environment can increase student engagement and overall literacy outcomes.
PoP works with thousands of communities around the globe to ensure that students overcome these and other barriers to accessing quality education. While it often begins with four walls and a classroom, the transformation and learning that happens within is changing the world.
THE PROCESS
Scout Communities: Before the beginning of a project, we work alongside local governments and communities leaders to identify potential partners
Establish Partnerships: We work with communities that are deeply committed to their children’s education and work closely to understand need
Build Together: Each community commits to contributing up to 20% in either labor or materials for each school build project
Provide Ongoing Support: A school build is only the start of a transformative experience — we partner with communities to ensure longevity and sustainability by providing training to teachers, creating healthy learning environments and helping students reach their full potential

A donation in the amount of $50,000 will bring one new school build to a community identified by PoP’s teams in Ghana, Guatemala and Laos. For more than 13 years, every single PoP build school remains open and operational. This is an investment that will not only transform students’ learning experience immediately, but for decades to come.
Your impact will be commemorated by a plaque mounted on the school’s exterior wall. In the appropriate circumstances, PoP will coordinate trips to Ghana, Guatemala or Laos and give you the opportunity to experience the impact we are making around the globe.
