Meet Santos: An Incredible Community Leader

MeetSantos
Santos inaugurating the new school with PoP Supporter, Sophia Bush.

Santos Julajuj is a member of the local development council in our community in Guadalupana. He has gone above and beyond; being present at every meeting and community event, supporting PoP and championing the importance of education. He is a perfect example of why our Promise Committees are so essential to our work.

When PoP started our process with La Guadalupana, Santos didn’t hesitate to immediately involve himself. He knew that, as a part of the local development council, the community would unite around his leadership to come together with PoP and build a brand new school.

Santos staunchly believes that education has the power to open one’s horizon and expand opportunity. He understands how limiting life can be if you aren’t able to achieve a high level of education. For him, education is the gateway to sustenance.

Santos has a girl and a boy currently enrolled at La Guadalupana Preschool and Primary School. He dreams that one day their educational opportunities will allow them to become doctors or architects.

We couldn’t be happier that he’s part of the PoP Family.
