Together, power couple Megan and Stuart Rogers have shown a tremendous amount of support for global education as proud members of the PoP family. As a couple raising three children, Cameron, 14, Noah, 7, and Clark, 4, pictured below, the PoP mission really hits home for this pair. Stuart and Megan both understand that 250 million children lack the basic skills to read and write, and they choose to do something about this unfortunate reality. “Life is not meant to be lived standing still,” is Megan’s motto. Perfectly accurate for someone so inspiring, we’d say.
Both Stuart and Megan have been passionate about education from very early on in their lives. Stuart recalls a 3rd-grade teacher who constantly challenged him, initially sparking his interest in learning and education. Megan’s passion for education stems from all of the deep relationships that were fostered during her school years, with professors, teachers and other students, especially those continuing today.
The couple became involved with PoP after Stuart attended a leadership conference with his company, American Family Insurance. It was here that Stuart listened to PoP founder, Adam Braun, tell his story. He was immediately motivated to implement social impact into his business practices and strategy and ultimately inspired by Adam’s message: that every child deserves access to quality education. He then took it upon himself to take action in challenging the leadership of his company to raise enough funds to build a full PoP school. With the Dreams Foundation, he did just that, and then some. American Family Insurance has now fully funded two PoP schools.
The best part of this all, according to Stuart, is the fact that the leadership all came together under one shared, unforgettable experience. They recognized the power of knowing that their work would impact an entire community and better the lives of students, parents and teachers.
Stuart and Megan’s dedication eventually brought them to the PoP field, where they were able to witness PoP’s work firsthand. They saw the community gather around the PoP school, not only to work and actually build the school, but to spend time together and enjoy life. This experience reminded them of playing with their boys back at home and really tied everything together for them. Every child has an endless amount of potential to be unlocked, no matter where in the world they are. Where you start in life should not dictate where you finish.
And they’re still going!
Stuart and Megan will be running the NYC Marathon on the PoP team this November and are actively fundraising toward a $100K goal! Their commitment, passion and desire to make the world a better place is pure inspiration for anyone who gets to know their story.
