Val Chmerkovskiy’s Impact with Pencils of Promise

Pencils of Promise is so grateful to have Val as part of our PoP Family! Val first joined PoP with the launch of his incredible birthday campaign and has provided quality education to PoP students and communities in the years since. We look forward to witnessing the impact he’ll create for generations to come.

Impact Updates

Thanks to Val’s support, PoP has completed two school builds in Ghana. We are well on our way to serving hundreds more students!

An update from Wodome, Ghana…

Previously, all grades enrolled in the Wodome Preschool and Primary School attended class in makeshift structures. Due to overcrowding, preprimary grades one through three were forced to learn outside under the shade of trees, and were frequently interrupted by inclement weather. With Val’s support, PoP and the Wodome community completed construction on a new three-unit classroom block and an office for teachers! The entire community is so excited that students now have access to a positive learning environment that supports every child’s unique potential.

An update from Dzelukope, Ghana…

Previously, the structure in which primary students attended class posed a danger to students and teachers alike. With cracked walls and a leaking roof, the building was in danger of collapsing. Thanks to Val’s incredible support, PoP and the Dzelukope community renovated a six-unit classroom block with updated, secure roofs and electricity to provide a positive learning environment. The new structure offers a safe and secure space for all Dzelukope students to learn and thrive!
