Hi PoP Family,
I wanted to highlight our recent Summer in the City fundraising event, and our newest campaign, A Girl’s Promise. This summer, we’ve had the opportunity to connect with new folks and encourage our community to support our work in new ways – this is an exciting time to be a part of the PoP family!
In August, we hosted PoP’s first in-person fundraising event since 2019, at the Brooklyn Winery. Summer in the City was successfully launched as an intersection between PoP, our CSR Council, and our influencer community. With the support of the CSR Council of young professionals, we welcomed over 120 guests and the evening included a VR installation of a school build in Ghana and the presentation of our inaugural Promise Awards to Jim Kwik, a member of PoP’s Advisory Board, and Aqua Parios.
Jim has been fiercely committed to PoP’s impact for several years through his company, Kwik Learning, and donations from his book, Limitless. He has also supported two school builds in Ghana and Guatemala. Aqua has been an incredible PoP advocate since 2018. As a highly-successful model, she has worked with many of the fashion industry’s top names. Since joining the PoP family, Aqua has rallied her loyal community in support of empowering children through education, including hosting a virtual screening of our short film, I Promise You.
Summer in the City also welcomed a new corporate partner, xTool, into the PoP family. xTool contributed $2,500 to Summer in the City and has since pledged an additional $11,255 from their Back to School campaign.
As the summer continued, we launched A Girl’s Promise. This new campaign was inspired, in part, by my recent visit to PoP Ghana. This trip marked my first opportunity to see PoP’s work in action, and I was overwhelmed with hope for a bright future for our children — especially our girls. The experience was so much more than I could have ever imagined.
A Girl’s Promise is a fundraising and awareness campaign to help us provide girls with things they need to stay in school — things PoP does best, like building school infrastructure and safe, private bathrooms, providing menstrual health tools and resources, access to clean water, and high-quality learning materials. Through the efforts of A Girl’s Promise, we aim to galvanize the global community to help impact an additional 25,000 girls in one year across Ghana, Guatemala, and Laos. When you have a moment, please share the campaign and video among family, friends, and colleagues.
Thank you for your continued support to help children across the globe unlock their fullest potential. We will continue to keep you updated on our activities and progress.
And, as always, thank you for being a part of the PoP family.
In gratitude,
